On The Surface
Pink Light artists are busy preparing for Surtex. We are especially excited about our new Pink Chandelier collections which are in the works. We were featured in the Surtex "On the Surface" newsletter this week. Check it out here. I'm currently working on the Pink Chandelier logo. Stay tuned...
Success
In the midst of my disappointment that the studio space that I thought was mine was leased to someone else at the last moment, I will use one of my fav quotes from LuluLemon.
"Life is full of setbacks. Success is determined by how you handle setbacks." :)
I will practice patience and know that a beautiful, spacious, bright, cheerful, and unique studio space is awaiting Pink Light. This just wasn't the right one.
Enjoy your evening. In San Fran about to do some inspiration shopping! Pix to come soon!

Pink Happy Spaces
Generating a few ideas for my new office. Love these looks below! Pink Light may be changing addresses! I will keep you posted! I have come to the realization that Pink Light needs to either shrink or grow...and I'm no shrinking violet!....stay tuned...
I don't think I will be able to paint the outside door, but I will imagine it looks like this every morning when I walk in.
This is the feel that my space will have, minus the clothes. There will be artwork boards up on the walls instead....divided out by trend and theme, of course. And yes...I will have a chandlier.
Love this chair!! Grey with pink would be fabulous!!! Planning to do some vintage shopping tomorrow...then find some fab fabrics at the design center in March.
Love Love Love this table with the glass top!!!
Found these online at Pier 1 Imports. I think I can achieve the look with these and a bit of glass...

This one might need some paint AND glass...
I would love two weeks in this room with some green tea and a few books. Or a massage therapist. Or both...:)
This Madeline Weinrib rug will look fab under my desk. Love!
I'm planning the office to be clean and simple...but If you've ever worked with me, you know it will look something like this...sooner or later...I tend to build piles of magazine, inspiration, fabric, sketches, and post it notes...all around me!
Aerin Lauder above. She represents how I will feel in my new, beautifully decorated, creative, unique, spacious office! I will not wear ball gowns to the office...but...I will have a ball!!!!!
Here's to creative spaces for creative women everywhere!
If you have a dream space that you've been thinking about, collecting ideas for, etc., hang them up around your home where you can see them every day and soon you will be decorating your very own happy space!

Forgiveness
Commitment
I am meditating on the idea of commitment today. So many things to do..new ideas...new ventures...I need 5 of me! I'm considering how much easier it would be to fulfill all of our outside commitments if we first held our commitments to ourselves, first and foremost, no excuses. 9:30 am yoga. Here I come. And the rest of tomorrow will flow with ease and grace as I fulfill all of my commitments. :)
A few quotes on the topic of commitment:
"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstances permit. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses, only results."
"Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny."
"Commitment unlocks the doors of imagination, allows vision, and gives us the "right stuff" to turn our dreams into reality." --James Womack
"An ounce of performance is worth pounds of promises." --Mae West
"Desire is the key to motivation, but it's determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal-a commitment to excellence-that will enable you to attain the success you seek"--Mario Andretti
"The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor."--Vince Lombardi
"Commitment doesn't mean that it has to last forever, but while you're there, commit yourself 100%. By doing this, the quality of your life improves 100%."--Susan Jeffers
and most importantly...may we choose our commitments wisely...
"Freedom is not the absence of commitments, but the ability to choose--and commit myself to--what is best for me."--Paulo Coelho

Pinking of a Happy Space
A few happy quotes I found in "Where Women Create".
"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see."-Henry David Thoreau
"No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever."-Francois Mauriac
"You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it." Robin Williams
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once (we grow) up."-Pablo Picasso
Here's to happy spaces! Inside and out!

Textile and Surface Designers Guild of Seattle
I am happy to announce for my dear friend Anne Marie that she has started The Textile and Surface Designers Guild of Seattle. Meetings will be held the last Saturday of each month. Topics will include textile design movements, trend information, copyright, licensing and an opportunity for networking. We hope to see you there! Please become a fan on facebook for updates. I will be sharing a bit of my education regarding licensing over the past two weeks at our first meeting.
An Education
The last two weeks of my life have been priceless. I will return to Seattle tomorrow a bit different than when I left. Wiser. Stronger. And ready to take Pink Light to the next level! After enjoying a bit of downtime with my little ones...of course. Oh! To hear their laughs and see their smiling faces. Truly priceless!!!
I am happy to report that the two trade shows, CHA and NYIGF have been very successful. I am excited to have our art seen by more and more clients in new and exciting industries such as bedding, tabletop, rugs, handbags, etc. I have made wonderful connections and best of all met LOVELY people!
Thank you to all who continue to support Pink Light!
Stay tuned for some exciting new developments in the next few months!
