The PERFECT heel for dancing
I think these gorgeous Kate Spade heels might be my Happy New Year gift to myself! I have the perfect pair of black and white polka dot shoes that remind me of these that are almost shredded because I love them so much! Miss Khristian Howell and I have the same pair and we used to heat up the salsa dance floor in them. They need replacing and we need to dance again! ;)
What will you treat yourself to this Holiday season? GIVE LOTS AND LOTS!!! and then, treat yourself to something special. You deserve it!

Pink Happy Thought for the week
I am reading a new book titled "Success through a positive mental attitude" by Napoleon Hill. It's a great read and I would suggest it for anyone who desires to lead a happy, fulfilling life! I wanted to share with you the 17 success principals extracted from a lifetime of experiences by hundreds of the most successful people our nation has known during the past century. The book dives into how you can change your world and relationships through positive mental attitudes, and so much more!!! I hope you pick it up!
1/ A Positive Mental Attitude
2/ Definiteness of purpose
3/ Going the extra mile
4/ Accurate thinking
5/ Self-discipline
6/ The master mind
7/ Applied faith
8/ A pleasing personality
9/ Personal initiative
10/ Enthusiasm
11/ Controlled attention
12/ Teamwork
13/ Learning from defeat
14/ Creative vision
15/ Budgeting of time and money
16/ Maintaining sound physical and mental health
17/ Using cosmic habit force (universal law)
I'm a slow reader as I have to read a bit and then practice, re read, process, etc, but I have learned that life is definitely a journey and the more we move toward continual growth and development in all aspects of our lives, the more fulfilling and meaningful life becomes. Here's to a successful and happy 2011!!! Best to all!!!

Pink Light artists are busy working on lots of Holiday and Christmas designs! It's so much fun to work on Holiday designs when it's snowing outside!
Here's a sneak peek at the first piece in my new collection...from sketch...
to final design...I've added a woodgrain texture to this collection which I'm really excited about. Makes it look natural and a bit rustic...more to come.

Pink Happy Lessons
I've been thinking today about a few lessons I've learned lately...
1. Sometimes taking a little break is the best thing to do.
2. Mistakes are the big lessons. Learn from them. Come up with a solution so that you don't repeat them.
3. Get your sleep so that your pink light can shine!
4. Don't worry about getting too much sleep because your business (your art) is your passion. Your passion makes your light shine!
5. Know the difference and balance between numbers 3 and 4. :)
6. Have a vision board. Constantly update it. Keep it in a place you see every day. It works!
7. Be grateful. For everything. Even if things don't seem to be going your way. If you stop being grateful, return to number 1. Take a break until you find your gratitude again. :)
Thank you to everyone who has supported Pink Light in the last 1.75 years! It has been such an adventure! I'm getting excited for 2011 and I can't wait to share all of the great artwork that our artists have been creating!

Job Shadow at PLD
Hailey spent the day job shadowing me at PLD--I thought it might be boring for her to watch me email and draw. Hence, I decided to take her to The Seattle Design Center to look for fabric swatches for the studio design, do some "notebook" market research and to of course...stop by Nordstrom to try on some pretty shoes...
looking at pretty wallpaper designs..
And the pretty red shoes at Nordstrom...
Our favorite find of the day was this wallpaper design by The Designer's Guild. I'm thinking this will look BEAUTIFUL on one wall in the studio.
